Resolution Affirming Emergency To Exist At The Cumberland County Sheriff's Department Regarding The Top Aviation Red Warning Beacon On The Radio Tower And Affirming The Repair Thereof

WHEREAS, on November 2, 2017, an emergency developed at the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department, 220 North Laurel Street, Bridgeton, New Jersey  wherein the top Aviation Red Warning Beacon on the radio tower was out; and

WHEREAS, said outage presents an immediate danger to low flying aircraft such as MediVac helicopters and by FAA Regulations must be repaired immediately; and

WHEREAS, a purchase order was created to have Rick Connor, 412 Carranza Road, Tabernacle, NJ  08088 perform the emergent services and repair the beacon at an estimated cost of $1,000.00; and

WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:11-6 allows a contracting unit to award contracts without public advertising for bids for the immediate delivery of services under said emergency condition

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF CHOSEN FREEHOLDERS OF THE COUNTY OF CUMBERLAND, as follows:

1.              That for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereto, this Board hereby affirms an emergency to have existed.

2.              That this Board hereby further affirms the actions taken to correct said emergency situation for a public safety standpoint.

3.              That said repair services shall be charged to Line Item Appropriation or Account No. 7-01-24-755-200-303 in the amount of $1,000.00.

Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Board of Chosen Freeholders held at the Cumberland County Administration Building, 164 West Broad Street, Bridgeton, New Jersey on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. prevailing time.
