              WHEREAS, this Board duly received and opened bids for providing snow removal services and associated equipment for the County of Cumberland; and

              WHEREAS, bids were received as follows:

                                                        South State, Inc., Bridgeton, NJ

; and

              WHEREAS, the Director of Purchasing has reported that South State, Inc., P.O. Box 68, Bridgeton, NJ  08302  was the lowest responsive, responsible bidder; and

WHEREAS, the maximum contract award amount is $5,000.00; and

WHEREAS, no amount will be encumbered until such time as good or services are ordered; and

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent and/or CFO/Treasurer upon approving the release of a purchase order shall ascertain that there are available sufficient uncommitted appropriations to provide payment; and

WHEREAS,  the purchase order will encumber appropriate account numbers as determined by the CFO/Treasurer at the time the purchase order is created in an amount(s) not to exceed the maximum contract award of $5,000.00 in the aggregate.

              NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF CHOSEN FREEHOLDERS  OF THE COUNTY OF CUMBERLAND, as follows:

1.              That this Board hereby recommends an open-ended contract be awarded to South State, Inc. in accordance with the specifications and the bid of the contractor in the maximum amount of $5,000.00 ($450.00/hour per vehicle and $200.00/hour Contractor Supervisor rate during snow removal operations when providing three (3) or more vehicles)                   for the contract period December 1, 2017 through October 31, 2019 with the option to renew said contract for one (1) additional two (2) year term with continuation of said contract in 2019 through 2021 to be contingent upon appropriation of sufficient funds in the 2019, 2020 and 2021 Budgets.

2.              That the proper officers of this Board are hereby authorized and directed to execute the contract hereby awarded.

3.              That this Board hereby authorizes the resubmission of this Bid to enable the County to solicit additional bids if desired.

              Passed and adopted  at a regular meeting of the Board of Chosen Freeholders held at the

Cumberland County  Administration Building, 164 West Broad Street in Bridgeton, New Jersey

on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 6:00 p.m., prevailing time.
