Body

              WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-12, local government contracting units may purchase materials, supplies, services or equipment without advertising for bids under any contract for the purchase of such items entered into on behalf of the State of New Jersey by the New Jersey Department of the Treasury, Division of Purchase and Property; and

              WHEREAS, the County of Cumberland desires to enter into an agreement with Smiths Detection, Inc., 2202 Lakeside Blvd., Edgewood, MD 21040 to provide one (1) Full Body Scanner in  accordance with the terms and conditions of the current New Jersey State Contract No. 82106, T-0106 (Police and Homeland Security Equipment and Supplies).

              NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF CHOSEN FREEHOLDERS OF THE COUNTY OF CUMBERLAND, as follows:

              1.              That a contract is hereby awarded to New Jersey State Contract Vendor Smiths Detection, Inc. in the amount of $142,257.00 to provide one (1) Full Body Scanner in accordance with the terms and conditions of the current New Jersey State Contract No. 82106, T-0106 (Police and Homeland Security Equipment and Supplies).

              2.              That said contract shall be charged to Line Item Appropriation or Account Nos. 7-01-C0-852-200-997 in the amount of $139,000.00 and 7-01-39-835-200-989 in the amount of $3,257.00.

              Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Board of Chosen Freeholders held at the Cumberland County Administration Building, 164 West Broad Street in Bridgeton, New Jersey on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 6:00 p.m., prevailing time.

Director Derella noted that the cost of the body scanner is more than Ordinance #4 appropriates. Clerk to the Board Ken Mecouch said that in addition to the funds allocated by Ordinance #4, another line intem will be used.
